Summertime Base Makeup

Hey Everyone!

I’m back from my holidays and thought I’d show you how I do my summer basemakeup! If you read my Summer Makeup Update post (here) then you’ll know that I prefer a lighter base, and this is the steps I do to give me the perfect summertime base!

After moisturising and priming with a pore minimising primer I use Soleil Tan De Chanel with a dense contour brush to bronze my skin, I then use the BareMinerals Original Mineral Foundation in the shade Light with a really large fluffy brush to blend the foundation all over my skin. This foundation has SPF 15 so it’s great for the summer!

To add some definition to my face I use Too Faced Cocoa Contour Palette, I use Medium Cocoa with a dab of Dark Cocoa to contour and then I go over that (lightly) with more of Medium Cocoa to blend and bronze my skin. I like to use Light Cocoa under my contour to lighten the area and in a triangle shape to lighten that area as well. After that I use a duo fibre brush to remove any excess powder and blend further.

To highlight I use MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Soft and Gentle on a large fan brush on the tops of my cheekbones and then I go in with a small highlighting brush and thebalm Mary-Lou Manizer to highlight the tip of my nose, along the tops of my cheekbones again and my cupids bow! To add a hit of colour and blend my contour and highlight together I use Benefits Dandelion blush.

I really like the finish this this gives!

For the eyebrows I use Soap and Glory Archery Pencil in the shade Dark Chocolate to define and fill in my brows and then I use Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium/Deep to set them in place!

I really love how this base looks and I do find it to be quite long wearing. It is the perfect base for multiple eye looks!

What is you’re go to foundation for the summer?

Hope to see you around,

Charlotte xx
