Plum Smokey Eye

Hey Everyone!

I’ve been really loving the dark berry tones for Autumn and thought I’d try them out on my eyes in the form of a purple smokey eye.

For my base I followed my Flawless Base Makeup Routine!

For this look I used the Urban Decay Smoky Palette. This palette has some really lovely deep colours that blend beautifully for a nice smokey look! I first took the shades Combust and Whiskey and blended these into my crease and outer V. These are both matte shades so helped to create some depth and will be used as transition shades later! I then blended the shade Smolder into my crease and outer V as well. This is a really pretty purple metallic shade that works really well for Autumn.

I really love how the purple comes through without overpowering the look.

I applied a mix of Thirteen and High to my inner corners and brow bone and then brought High onto my lid to add  a metallic shine. I applied Smolder onto my lower lash line and blended this using Combust.

I then continually reapplied these shades and blended to get my desired depth. This did take a while and can be quite messy but just keep your concealer brush on hand and some Q-tips to fix any mistakes! I find with smokey eyes it is best to go slow and build up the colour than apply a very dark colour first.

Once I got to my desired colour I applied Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline eye pencil in the shade Legend to my waterline and blended this using a pencil brush. I then lined along my lashes with the L’Oreal Superliner Perfect Slim and then applied a lot of mascara instead of lashes! I used Too Faced Better Than Sex, Too Faced Lashgasm, Benefit They’re Real and MAC Extended Play Gigablack Mascara. Click here for a review of these mascaras!

I really love how the liner and mascara makes this look complete! I think that the plum tones of the Smolder shade work really well with the pink tones of High. I think this might become one of my new go to looks for Autumn nights!

For lips I wanted to keep to the warmer tones without being too bold so I opted for MAC lip pencil in the shade Whirl and Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita.

I really love this dusty rose tone with this eye look! I also think I have complete fallen back in love with Lolita! I can’t wait to wear it this season, it is the perfect Autumn shade!

What are your favourite colours to wear in Autumn? I love rich berry tones and khaki green shades!

Hope to see you around,
