Palette of the Month: November

Hey Everyone!

I can hardly believe that 2016 is nearly over and Christmas is fast approaching! I’ve chosen Urban Decay’s Ultimate Basics palette for Novembers Palette of the Month. This is a relatively new palette and is probably on quite a few peoples Christmas Wishlist this year!

This palette has 12 shades, 11 are matte and one has a slight shimmer. They are all warm neutral shades that are of a great quality. As you can see from the swatches the pigmentation of these shades are great, even the very light colours have good colour payoff! These colours have a really nice buttery texture and blend really easily on the eyes. This palette really lives up to the Urban Decay name and doesn’t disappoint!

The only thing I’ve found with this palette is that it can be difficult to create different looks using just the palette as it is lacking in different colours and textures, so it probably isn’t the best palette for a total beginner or someone who only wants one palette unless they want to only ever wear a matte brown eye! However it is a really lovely palette, and is a great addition to any collection! I really love using the range of matte shades to deepen my crease or as transition shades, and this palette does lend itself well to a matte brown 90’s smokey eye!

Overall, I’d give this palette a 4/5 as it is a great palette and the eyeshadows are a really good quality and the range of matte tones is really unique for a palette!

Have you tried this palette yet?

Hope to see you around,

Love,

Charlotte xx
