#Throwback Thursday: Revlon Colorstay Foundation

Hey Everyone,

If you think back to a few years ago there was one drugstore foundation on pretty much every beauty bloggers lips (or face?) – Revlon Colorstay foundation was a favourite for everyone, and was even compared to Nars Sheer Glow! So today I thought I’d put it to the test!

Eye look will be coming in a few weeks so make sure you check back!

To give this foundation a fair test I didn’t apply any primer as sometimes this can alter the finish and longevity of the foundation. I applied this using my beauty blender as this is my favourite way to apply foundation, I also set using the Kat Von D Lock It Setting Powder.

I loved how this foundation looked, it dried to a semi-matte finish and lasted well throughout the day!

I used 2 pumps and got quite full coverage but it didn’t look like a mask.  It blends really well round my nose and doesn’t cake or break up.

Make sure you work in sections while applying as this foundation does dry quite quickly.

It comes in 13 shades, so hopefully you can find a match! I used shade 180 Sand Beige.

How I got this base:

Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade – Dark Brown

Brow Gel: L’Oreal Brow Artist Brow Plumper – Medium/Dark

Foundation: Revlon Colorstay – 180 Sand Beige

Cream Contour: Urban Decay Shapeshifter Face Palette

Cream Highlight: Urban Decay Shapeshifter Face Palette

Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape – Fair Neutral

Under Eye Setting Powder: Kat Von D Lock It Brightening Powder – Petal

Face Setting Powder: Kat Von D Lock It Setting Powder

Blush: MAC Powder Blush – Harmony

Contour: Urban Decay Shapeshifter Face Palette

Highlighter: Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed – Moonstone

Setting Spray: MAC Fix+

  1. Great post! I’m always looking for a new foundation to try out. Must pick it up next time I’m in boots.

Can you do a post on your favourite mac products. It’s a brand I really want to try out but don’t know what to get.

  2. Yes! I can’t wait to see the eye post. I need some new tips. Where do you buy your foundation sponges? Is there a good kind you like to use?
