Hey Everyone,
One of my most requested guides is for a simple but glam eye look, and honestly I don’t think it gets much simpler than this one! I used about three shades from the Morphe 35T and one loose pigment to create this look and it’s appropriate for pretty much any event!
The key to nailing any makeup look is practice, so if you’re planning on doing your own makeup for a big event, like a wedding or party, then I really recommend practicing the look a few times! Especially if eyeshadow/liner/lashes aren’t things you use too often!
To start with I primed my lids using my Urban Decay Original Primer Potion and then went in with a mid toned matte brown shade (second row, second shade on the left). I used a large fluffy brush to blend this all along the crease and outer V to create definition.
I then went into a darker matte brown shade (bottom row, second shade on the right). I used this on a more taper/smaller fluffy brush and concentrated this shade from about 1/2 way through the crease and in the outer V. This helps create a smokey look and adds depth. It is important that both these shades are matte for the best finish! If you are having trouble blending them seamlessly, try going over the area with a clean blending brush!
For the lid I first applied some Helen E Fixing Gel, something like Too Faced Glitter Glue would also work, I then applied Helen E Loose Pigment in the Shade 2. Having the base helps to give the shadow more of a metallic finish, alternatively you could spray you brush with some Fix+ or Setting Spray for a similar look.
I used Kat Von D Ink Liner in Trooper to create a sharp wing and applied Eylure lashes in the style 117. For the lower lashes I used Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil in Legend and then smudged some of a medium brown along the lower lash line (bottom row, second shade on the left) and then I applied some mascara.
If you’re new to lashes I really recommend applying some liner, even if it’s just a thin line at the lashline. This helps make applying lashes easier as it disguises any areas where the eyelash band isn’t super close to your lashline!
