BLOGMAS 23: My Favourite Red Lipsticks

Hey Everyone,

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE’S EVE!

Red Lips are a staple this time of year, they look so festive and if you pop on a red lip with some simple eye makeup you look good to go! Here are my go to reds…

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Vampira

Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick – LadyBalls

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil – Cruella

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate – 107

MAC Lipstick – Ruby Woo

All of these have a matte finish as I’m terrible at remembering to reapply and I find matte is usually more long lasting than a glossy finish!

Here’s some of my previous looks using these red lipsticks!

TOP TIPS

  • Always use a lip liner before applying red lipsticks! Even if it isn’t the perfect match for your lipstick it’ll help with neatness and precision!
  • If you struggle with getting the perfect outline try using a teeny tiny lip brush as it’ll give more control!
  • Apply a generous helping of loose powder around the outer corners of your lips before applying the lip liner/lipstick to help avoid smudging your foundation.
  • Use a thicker concealer to cover up any mistakes, I like the Nars Soft Matte Concealer for this and I use it on a small flat ended brush! But make sure to clean the brush after each swipe so you don’t smudge any excess lipstick everywhere!

Happy Christmas!

Love,

  1. Red Lips are my favorite as well 🙂 Ruby Woo was my 1st Red lipstick and then Limecrime Red velvet. After that I had many reds but current favorite is Retro matte by Mac in the shade Dance with me ❤
