BLOGMAS 29: Soft Glam NYE Makeup

2018 is just around the corner, it’s hard to believe I know, but why not try out this soft glam makeup look to ring in the New Year! Remember to tag me on social media if you do!

As always I started with the brows, I used my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Dark brown and a small angled brush to fill them in and then used my Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer in Vanilla to tidy up around the brow area and bringing this down to the lids to act as a base. I used my beauty sponge to tap out any creasing and then set the eyelids with some Kat Von D Lock It Brightening Powder in Petal, and to help the eyeshadow last longer I primed the lids with Urban Decay Original Primer Potion.

To begin the eyes I used Buon Fresco from the Modern Renaissance palette through the crease as a transition shade. I then went into the shade Venetian Red and blended this through the crease again to add a little pop of colour. To deepen the outer edge I first used the shade Red Ochre along the outer third and in the outer V, for even more depth and darken I used the shade Cyprus Umber over the same area.

To lighten the lid I first used Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer in Vanilla to carve out the first half of the lid, I set this using the shade Primavera and then to add some glitter I  Too Faced Glitter Glue over the golden eyeshadow and then patted MAC Reflects Gold Glitter over this. I then used the Kat Von D Ink Jet Liner in Trooper. When going over the glitter it is best to press the liner down rather than draw it across the lid.

To finish the eyes I first tight lined using the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Waterproof pencil in Legend. I then smudged the shade Cyprus Umber along the lower lash line for a more dramatic look. I used the shade Vermeer mixed with Tempera to highlight brow bone and inner corner. I finished by applying some mascara and Eylure 117 lashes.
