Hey Everyone,
We have all seen a huge surge in “natural” makeup recently, lots of brands are releasing light coverage foundation and I for one am all about this trend! So I thought I’d share some of my favourite light coverage products and tips for the gorgeous glow we’re all craving right now!
Skincare
If you read my Skincare in Your Mid 20s post you’ll know how much I’m into my skincare right now! My biggest tip is to really invest in your skincare, there is a reason good skincare is pricey but really if you aren’t taking care of your skin then you can’t expect your foundation to work miracles!
My favourite skincare product right now is the Bare Minerals SkinLongevity serum, I can’t be without it! If you’re staring out in skincare, I recommend getting a Cleanser, Serum and Moisturisers (one for day with SPF and one for night). You’ll be amazed at how much better your makeup sits with a good skincare routine!

Sheer Coverage Foundation
I rarely go for sheer coverage as I prefer something a little fuller, but when I do want something super light there is really only one option – the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Gel! This is a lightweight tinted moisturiser style product with SPF 30, it’s great for a drier skin type and gives such a lovely glow! If you’re looking for a tinted moisturiser I highly recommend you check this one out! For me nothing else compares to it!
Light Coverage Foundation
When I want a light coverage there are a few products I go straight for, Bare Minerals Original is my absolute favourite, if you haven’t tried it I really recommend giving it a go! You can choose how much coverage you want with this foundation but building it up in layers, so it can go from sheer to medium depending on your mood for the day!
A new light coverage foundation I’ve been loving is the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Stick, similar to the Complexion Rescue Tinted Gel as it is very hydrating but it has a lot better coverage! Similar to the Original Foundation you can layer this up for more of a medium coverage.
Nars Sheer Glow has always been my favourite liquid foundation but now I’m using slightly less for al lighter coverage! I’ve used it countless times on my blog building it up for a medium to full coverage! It’s a fab all rounder!

I’m obsessed with lighter coverage at the moment and there’s loads I want to try out, here’s my “to try” list
Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream
Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint
NYX Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil
Tips and Tricks
If you have a fuller coverage foundation that you love but want to sheer it out try mixing in a little drop of moisturiser or serum! This will help to give the foundation more of a glow and a lighter coverage!
I find when I wear a lighter coverage I skip contour opting only for bronzer and highlighter to give my face a little warmth and a dewy glow.
If you have an oiler skin type, don’t be afraid of products that advertise being hydrated (as long as they are oil free) you’ll probably need to add a little powder but just add back the glow with a good dose of highlighter or a brightening primer underneath.
Most light coverage foundations won’t last as long as a full coverage matte foundation (due to the nature of the products they tend to be more for a 6-12 hour wear) make sure you are still using a finishing powder and setting spray, this should help you get an extra few hours out of the foundation!
When I want something lighter Bare Minerals is one of my go to brands! Their foundations rarely disappoint and they have a great colour range!
Love,

I’m also into lighter more natural coverage. It doesn’t age you like heavy makeup does
